Week I - May 22 - Blackwork
My goal is to demonstrate a couple period embroidery stitches, and set you off exploring blackwork embroidery.
- please bring an extra embroidery hoop if you have any to spare for the afternoon only.
- please bring any blackwork embroidered pieces you would like to display for examples of this craft.
-please bring any research materials you may have in your own library to provide inspiration!
- I will supply printed fabric designs ready to embroider, and also paper patterns for counted blackwork, and line drawing blackwork. The projects will vary from small patches useful for needlebooks, pincushions, book covers, and applique patches. I will also bring a couple printed coif fabric panels, and the patterns for the same should you wish to bring one home to print onto your own fabric.
- I will supply the black dmc floss. If you have in your possession black silk floss, please bring it for your own work.
